Summer Colored Pencil class with Maryann Kot. 6-week session, starting Mondays June 19 through July 24 9:30 am - noon
This class will combine colored pencil and graphite using several techniques and drawing surfaces. Each technique will result in a beautiful and unique finished drawing in realism. Surfaces used will be drafting film, vellum, and smooth drawing paper and fine art photographic paper. All paper provided by instructor. Plan on doing a given sample exercise of each technique and then go on to develop your own creation. Plan on a fun summer drawing experience.
Adult class - some colored pencil experience helpful
Colored Pencil with Maryann Kot. Thursdays Starting June 22 for 6 weeks
Classes are for beginners. Beginners will learn the properties of the colored pencil, color theory, and how to create realistic drawings. Students will be able to create their own colored pencil projects at the end of the six week session.

Maryann has a certificate in nature illustration from the Tucson Desert Museum, Art Institute. The three-year certificate program has a strong curriculum in drawing and colored pencil.

Classes are open to everyone 18 years and older. Beginners will learn the properties of the colored pencil, color theory, and how to create realistic drawings. Intermediate students will be in an open studio environment and will learn additional colored pencil techniques. A variety of projects will be available to all students. Students are encourages to also create their own colored pencil projects during the five week course.
Laurie Miille is a California native who currently resides in San Ramon, CA. She has degrees in Drafting Technology, Interior Design and Photography. She worked as a Printed Circuit Designer for 35 years before retiring from her full time professional career and committing herself to her life-long interest in art. She has been drawing and painting landscapes, portraits and still life in oils, acrylics, pastel, watercolor and colored pencil. Contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
