Artistic Cultural Space in Livermore, CA
Our History - The Livermore Valley Performing Arts Center is a non-profit organization that operates four spaces: the Bankhead Theater, the Bothwell Arts Center, Downtown Art Studios and meet mART Clay Studios . The mission of LVPAC is to offer a broad range of arts opportunities and experiences to engage our diverse community.
The Bothwell Arts Center has been an arts incubator, offering affordable and rentable classroom, rehearsal, performance, event, and studio rental space for artists, musicians, theatrical, acting, choral, and other individuals, groups or events with a cultural arts focus.
We invite you to join the Bothwell family! Over 40,000 people have benefited from classes, workshops, performances and events at the Bothwell Arts Center, from children to adults. Frequent renters include ABC Music Source, Sycamore Strings Academy, Livermore Opera, Shakespeare's Associates, Livermore Amador Symphony, and many others. The Bothwell sponsors an array of community arts activities including ArtWalk, Art on the Green, Tree Sweater Forest, New Orleans Bash at the Bothwell and Night of the Livermore Dead Zombie Pub Crawl.
Your support of the Bothwell Arts Center allows us to keep rents low for all of the nonprofit groups, students, artists, teachers and workers in the arts that use the center, such as:
- Nonprofit groups who use the Bothwell for rehearsals, productions and events are Livermore Valley Opera, Livermore Amador Symphony, Pacific Chamber Symphony, TwoDayTown; MusicTime Academy; Encore Players; Tri-Valley Cultural Jews; Livermore Community Thanksgiving Dinner; Livermore Lion’s; Friday Figure Workshop; JazzLabb / jazz camp.
- Teachers of the arts from violins to studio arts, writing and dancing; and visual art workshops.
- Meetings for cultural arts activities such as the Bothwell Artists’ Show & Tell/Critique Night, Livermore Artist Association, Encore Players, and Visual artists at the Bothwell Arts Center, the Downtown Art Studio and the meet mART Clay Studios.
And, by supporting the Bothwell Arts Center, you also help support its many community events: ArtWalk Livermore, an annual arts festival downtown, Downtown Tree Sweater Forest, and the bi-annual Mardi Gras party called the New Orleans Bash at the Bothwell.
Another great way to help the Bothwell is by your purchase of See's Candies at Main Street Designs Antiques Store at the corner of First & L in downtown Livermore (the old Groth Bros. building). The proceeds from each delicious gift you purchase helps to support the Bothwell Arts Center, ArtWalk, the many arts organizations and artists that keep Livermore’s cultural arts alive and well.
