Chris Proctor, a solo acoustic guitarist and a National Fingerstyle Champion, will perform in concert for one night only Friday, November 11th, at the Bothwell Arts Center. These wonderful acoustic concerts have been historically sponsored in conjunction with Michael Ferrucci and Fretted Friends Music, former owner of the community music store in downtown Livermore. This event is sponsored by the Livermore Rotary Club.
Chris Proctor has consistently supported the Livermore Rotary’s Music Scholarship Fund and now returns to Livermore for his forth live concert here. “ The Bothwell Arts Center is a perfect venue for this type of music” says Michael Ferrucci. Michael adds, “ the fact that Chris only plays on acoustic guitars, the Bothwell’s unique acoustics qualities will certainly compliment the repertoire I would expect Chris to play. “I know we’ll be in for a special musical experience!” he adds.
This is a benefit for the Livermore Rotary Music Scholarship Fund. This Spring, Rotary Music Scholarship awards will be given out to those Livermore music students seeking financial help. Funds can be used for instrument rental or repair, band camp, lessons and or any other needs from simple sheet music requests, to paying for college tuition. The Mission of the Livermore Rotary’s Music Scholarship Fund has always been to support and facilitate the ambition of those students considering perusing a career in music. More information and details will be available on the Livermore Rotary’s website the beginning of next year at http://www.livermore-rotary.org Over the past decade, the Rotary Music Scholarship Committee has distributed tens of thousands of dollars to worthy Livermore students. Grants to students are based on an evaluation of their grant application and will range from $200 to $1,000 depending on their grade level and specific needs.
