EXPLORE ART EXPO!
All year long, the Bothwell Arts Center fosters art in the community by providing a creative studio environment for artists, art inspiring classes for students of all ages, and open space to make music, dance, move and sing for performing arts companies and local groups. The community is welcome on any day, but on Sunday, June 12th the Bothwell will fling open its doors for ART EXPO, an exciting one-day exposition on all things art. Artists, community members, and the just plain curious are invited to spend a day exploring and learning what’s new in the world of art.
Art will be everywhere throughout the Bothwell: Demonstrations will be offered in colored pencil art, printmaking, wood carving, graphic novel illustration, paper sculpture, ceramics, mask making, horror makeup and more. Guests can take part in a special print-making workshop, first-come, first-served. For children there will be face painting and hands-on art making activities.
For a $10 entrance fee, artists can attend seminars on framing and pricing art, using social media, making YouTube videos to promote their art, and the ins and outs of fine art prints. The final day of the Essential Figurative Exhibit will be in the West End, showcasing area artists’ amazing work in figurative drawing and painting. As part of the Essential Figurative Exhibit there will be a memorial exhibition of artist Jessie Spears featuring a number of her beloved works.
Throughout the day, fine arts and hand crafts will on sale, as well as specials on art supplies for the professional or amateur artist. Lunch will be available and will benefit community causes supported by the Lions.
Join in a lively celebration of everything art at the Bothwell on Sunday, June 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 2466 Eighth Street, Livermore.
